Rant Time

Well I've waited long enough, it's time I had a rant.

This weekend I learned of Government plans to detach me from even more of my money. Not content with plundering my pension funds to ensure I have a poverty stricken retirement, they have decide to double airport taxes, to try to stop me enjoying myself here and now.

So even if I tried to spend my money now and enjoy the present whilst I can, the nanny state, that is President Blair and co, will take another wodge of money out of my pocket, for their own pleasure. I wouldn't mind so much if they used it wisely.

I reckon the whole idea is to get back to the old days, when you had to seek the permission of the authorities before you travelled outside your locallity. They are impinging on my human rights to travel freely throughout the world without restriction, or something.

Mr Blair and your cronies, this is not what you were voted into office to do.

I know this isn't achieving a thing, but it's sort off theraputic in a way.

Oh well that's it for now, unless I start on judges, no don't get me going on judges, not today, I really don't think it's a good idea.

Yes! What A Day

I'm happy, well more than happy to say the least. I've spent the day shovelling manure from one end of the garden, to spread it around the borders at the other end. But that's not why I'm happy. The reason you see, is that Middlesbrough have stuffed Sunderland 3-1 in our local derby, I was fully expecting the Mackems to turn us over against the form book. It's even better because we beat them in their own ground, which is our first away win since September last year. A great day indeed. I can settle back in the bath with a beer and reflect on a great win.

I've phoned my mum too, and she has returned from a break in Kent, and for the first time in months has managed to walk around the resorts she has visited. Her recent treatment in hospital seems to have worked wonders for her. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way. She was getting really depressd not being able to walk more than 20 yards. It really is a good day, I think I'll finish it with a bottle of Merlot and a good book.

I'm currently reading By the Rivers Of Babylon, by Nelson DeMille. I won't go into too much detail as I've only just started it. Apparently he's an international best seller. I only discovered him when I picked up a book in a hotel library whilst on holiday in Madeira last year. I'd finished the 5 books that I'd took with me, so took a chance on one I found. It was a pretty good read, now I'm onto my 3rd of his.

The previous week at work was terrible, everything that could go wrong went wrong and I was going to have a rant today about stupid laws in this country and what have you, but no I'll leave that for another day now. It's funny how a good result lifts your spirits, life is good why waste it by moaning.

Well hello to anybody who happens by and reads this rubbish.

I must admit that I haven't really thought about what I'm going to use these Blogs for, but thought I would register to see what it was all about and to see if it may be a useful means of recording news, about me and my family, that my brother can follow when he emigrates to Australia in the next few months. I suppose it could be a useful way of keeping him up to date with what's going on in old blighty when he eventually gets there.

I don't suppose I've a lot to talk about today, so I'll leave it at that for now.
